Olympian Gopi T, Kheta Ram eye podium finishes

Rio Olympian Gopi T is aiming to break his record and win the title in the men's category of full marathon at the IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon here tomorrow.

Other top Indian elite athletes such as G Lakshmanan, Bahadur Singh Dhoni, Rashpal Singh, besides Gopi T in men's section, and Jyoti Gawate, Monika Athare and Ranjana Kumari in the women's field would also vye for the top honours.

The marathon will feature some of the biggest track & field and distance runners, with a total of 67 elite athletes on the starting line.

The race will be flagged off by iconic cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and will start at 5am in the morning.
 

In the half-marathon category, Olympian Kheta Ram will be looking to finish on the podium despite an injury he sustained in Mumbai last month.

As he is yet to attain full fitness, Kheta Ram has decided to run half marathon instead of full marathon.
