The official website of Oman's ruler will now be available in four foreign languages, including two Indian languages - Malayalam and Urdu.

The decision to launch four foreign languages was announced on the occasion of the country's National Day celebrations and 43rd anniversary of Sultan Qaboos bin Said's reign.

The website, which was also launched in two other foreign languages - Thai and Indonesian, highlights the life of Said and his achievements during the last 43 years of his leadership.

Sheikh Al Fahdel bin Mohammed Al Harthy, secretary-general of Oman's Council of Ministers, launched the addition of new languages to the website.

"We are pleased to launch this website dedicated to our leader which speaks in 20 languages. It is a proud moment for us," Hamoud bin Mohammed Al Azri, general supervisor of the Sultan's website, was quoted as saying by Times of Oman.

"The management of the website has received letters of encouragement from leaders of various countries. We have received letters of appreciation from President Park Geun-hye of the Republic of Korea, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, and President Benigno Aquino III of the Philippines, and Kim Hwang-sik, the former prime minister of the Republic of Korea," Azri said.

Currently the website is available in seven languages - Arabic, English, Hindi, Korean, French, Persian and Portugese.
