Omar meets families of accident victims

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today visited the families who had lost their children in an accident on Thursday in Kokernag area in Anantnag district.

Omar consoled the shattered families, conveyed his heartfelt grief, prayed for peace to the departed souls and wished speedy recovery for the injured, an official spokesman said.

The Chief Minister had already announced ex-gratia of Rs one lakh each to the bereaved families and Rs 10,000 each to the injured, he said.

Omar directed the Anantnag District Development Commissioner for early preparation of a detailed project report for construction of a bridge on Kandiwara-Sagam road where the accident took place in which nine children were killed and eight were injured.
 

He also directed for strengthening of the health infrastructure in Kandiwara area, the spokesman said.
