"Having failed to give good governance and provide a corruption free government in the J&K, Omar is trying to escape the wrath of the masses by raking up the dead and unnecessary issues with just one motive to divert their attention from the real issues," BJP state president Shamsher Singh Manhas told reporters here.
Manhas, in a reaction to the chief minister's statement that they (NC) can't allow weakening of J&K's special status, said " Kashmir is settled once for all. It is integral party of the country".
He said that the successive governments in the state have used the issue of "special status" as a tool to arouse the sentiments of the people by linking it with misleading assumptions.
This provision has blocked the inflow of outside investments, erected obstacles in the path of allowing private sector to flourish, which is the main cause of rising unemployment in the state, the BJP leader alleged.
Manhas said that the chief minister should shed this policy of misleading the people and utilise his time and energy in ensuring to resolve their problems by making his government accountable and people friendly.
