"PDP will crumble under its own skullduggery. Falsehoods and deceptive politics do not hold ground for long," Chief Minister Omar Abdullah told public meetings in Rajouri and Poonch districts.
"The frustration of PDP leaders is visible through their statements and baseless propaganda against the NC-Congress coalition," he said.
"I want to tell those who are from the opposition to ask your leadership about the bill they passed in the Assembly in 2005," the NC working president said.
"In 2005, to supersede the Panchayats and to make these their stooges and puppets they introduced a bill to amend the the Panchayati Raj Act, 1989," he said.
"The Governor did not give his assent to the bill because we opposed it terming the legislation as anti-people, anti-Panchayat and anti-democratic," Omar said.
"It is surprising the same party today is talking about empowerment of Panchayats. It is hoodwinking people and spreading falsehoods," the Chief Minister said. MORE
