National Conference leader Omar Abdullah has targeted Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for alliance with BJP after a self-claimed BJP supporter tweeted communally-inflammatory comments.

"Mufti Syed's allies call for the mass murder of Muslims. Wah Mufti Sahib, wah... These are Mufti Syed & @jkpdp's allies. Amazing how far one can fall for power," the former Chief Minister wrote in a series of tweets.

Syed is running the government in alliance with BJP.

Omar said the original tweet was deleted "quietly" by the account operator whose profile claims that he is followed by the Prime Minister.

"Here it is since the original one was quietly deleted & his bio proudly claims that our Honourable PM FOLLOWS him," the NC's Working President said.

The twitter handle operator had deleted his account an hour after his tweet triggered widespread criticism on the social networking sites.

The operator also tweeted several apologies, "I'm very very sorry again for my tweets. I promise it won't happen again. I've put my party down. Deleting my handle.
