On JRD's birthday, AI increases Delhi-Allahabad frequency

"Today is the birth anniversary of J R D Tata, who was the founder of Air India. To mark the occasion, we have increased the number of days of operations of Delhi-Allahabad flight from three days week to four days," an Air India spokesperson said.

Today we have started a new service to the Sangam City, he said.

Also, Air India has changed the days of its operation to Allahabad from Monday, Wednesday and Friday earlier to Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday from today, he said.

The decision to increase the flight to Allahabad was taken as it was the city from where civil aviation in India started 100 years ago, he said, adding "we are celebrating the centenary of civil aviation in India".
