One person was arrested today for allegedly raping a woman by making a false promise of marrying her, the police said.
Randeep Sonkar of Burrabazar area was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim's mother who alleged that her daughter was raped by Randeep after assuring her of marriage.
Randeep denied having promised to get married to the victim who is presently five months pregnant.
