One arrested for assaulting police constable

A man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a police constable when he had gone to former's house to hand over a notice, asking him to be present in court in connection with a case.

In his complaint, Head Constable Ram Mehar alleged that he had gone to Vijendra Singh Tanwar's house with the notice yesterday.

But instead of accepting it, Vijendra, resident of Housing Board Colony in Sector-18, misbehaved with the constable.

He also threatened the cop saying that he is a politician and can do anything he wants to.

When the constable tried to convince Tanwar, the accused along with two women family members, physically attacked Mehar.
 

Investigating Officer ASI Ram Prakash informed that the accused Vijendra Singh has been arrested and sent to jail.

Regarding his political affiliation, the officer informed that the accused is not into politics.

However, his wife is contesting for Councilor's post in upcoming election, Prakash said.
