One arrested for cheating Chinese business representative

A 45-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly cheating a Chinese business representative to the tune of Rs 28 lakh.

Thomas Jerald Henry was arrested based on a complaint from Li Un Thiyam, police said in a release here today.

The complainant, an Indian representative of a Chinese firm, had stated that he had given Rs 28.05 lakh to Henry towards purchase of frozen chicken feet from his company but the order was never supplied nor was the money returned.

He later preferred a complaint with the police, who arrested Henry yesterday, the release said, adding, Henry was later sent to judicial custody.
