One of the accused in the killing of Arup Bhandari, who protested against eve-teasing during immersion of Saraswati idols, was arrested today from Uttar Pradesh, a day after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her annoyance over police failure to book the culprits.
A team of Howrah police arrested Raju Tiwari, one of the accused in the killing of Arup Bhandari of Salkia here, from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh, a senior officer of the Howrah Police Commissionerate told PTI.
Yesterday, Banerjee during a visit to Bhandari's residence here had termed the killing as 'unfortunate' and slammed the police for its failure to arrest those involved in the crime.

Arup, a 20-year-old college student, succumbed to injuries on Monday after he was beaten up for protesting against lewd comments passed at two girls during immersion of idols at the culmination of the Saraswati Puja.
