One-day remand extension of Seashore Group CMD

A special court here extended by a day the remand of Seashore Group CMD Prashant Dash who is already in CBI custody in the multi-crore chit fund scam in Odisha.

Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court judge P L Satpathy allowed CBI to keep Dash in its custody for one more day. Dash was earlier produced in the court on completion of his 13-day remand with CBI.

CBI counsel informed the court that the inevstigating agency wanted one more day as it wanted to confirm certain facts in connection with the chit fund scam.

Sources said the investigating agency raided the residence of a middleman Subhankar Nayak and recovered documents required for the probe. Nayak had been arrested and is in the custody of CBI.
 

Meanwhile, CBI has confronted some persons like Rajya Sabha MP Pyarimohan Mohapatra with Dash.
