One dead, 4 injured in attack

A teenaged boy died of

electrocution and four sustained bullet injuries at Kshetrigao Yumkhaibam Makha Leikai in Manipur's Imphal East district when a murder accused attacked a group of people, police said today.

The incident occurred when a group of people went to the house of the murder accused, Md Ajmir, for a discussion yesterday evening.

He allegedly fired on them from his licensed double barrel gun though none was injured in that, police said.

Following the firing, a large number of people came to the spot and attacked his house. Ajmir allegedly fired again injuring four persons.

A 14-year-old boy, identified as Md Sadam, was electrocuted during the attack.
 

The mob then torched the house of Ajmir who was accused of murdering one Md Nausad of Ngangau Loukol under Lilong police station in Manipur's Thoubal district on April two.

Following the incident, the district administration imposed curfew in Kshetrigao Yumkhaibam Makha Leikai from 7 PM yesterday.

No untoward incident was reported since then.
