A 35-year-old worker was killed and nine others were injured today in a fire that broke out at a solvent plant in Mahasamund district in Chhattisgarh, police said.
The fire broke out in the wee hours at Radhakrishna Oil Mill located in Baitari village under Saraipali police station area, Station House Officer (SHO) of Saraipali police station Rajesh Singh told PTI.
"Ten workers suffered burn injuries in the incident and one of them, identified as Chandrakant Mishra, died during treatment at Raipur," he said.

The plant officials informed the police and shifted the injured to a local hospital, he said.
"A police team along with fire brigade rushed to the spot and fire tenders were pressed into service. After providing preliminary treatment, the injured were shifted to Raipur for further medical treatment," he said.
The injured were identified as Rajkumar Sai, Tula Patel, Vinod Kumar, Arun Singh, Ramashankar,Pintu, Janardan Mishra, Lav Kumar Mahapatra and Sant Lal.
They are undergoing treatment at Dr B R Ambedkar Memorial Hospital in Raipur, the SHO said adding that most of them were said to be in a critical condition.
The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained, the officer said adding that it could be due to some explosion.
A case has been registered in this condition and further probe was on, Singh said.
