One die, 14 injured in gas cylinder explosion

One person was killed and 14 others injured when a gas cylinder used for filling balloons exploded at a village fair in the district today.

Sub-Divisional Officer Sunil Kumar said the incident took place in Kemaripur Bedaul village under Sakra police station of Muzaffarpur district.

The cylinder being used for filling balloons exploded accidentally resulting in the death of one person on the spot and injury to 14 others, the SDO said.

Out of the 14 injured, the condition of four was stated to be serious, the SDO said, adding they have been admitted at Shri Krishna Memorial College and Hospital.
 

The district administration paid Rs four lakh as compensation to the family members of the deceased identified as Roshan Kumar. The injured would be also be treated free of cost.
