A-45-year-old construction worker died after the loose mud caved in on him while working at a construction site here today, police said.
Durairaj and five other workers were removing mud from the pit for laying pillar for a building when the loose mud fell on them, police said.
Even as fire and rescue services personnel arrived the spot for rescue operations, five workers managed to come out with minor injuries.
However, Durairaj could not be rescued. His body was retrieved, police said.
