Ghulam Nabi Joo accidentally touched the live electricity wire while repairing the main supply line to his residence at village Rathsun, 35 kms from here, they said.
Joo's nephew Gulzar Ahmad and daughter Fatima also got injured in a bid to rescue him.
The three were rushed to a public health centre in Beerwah where Joo succumbed to his injuries during the treatment, they added.
