One held for attempting to murder

A 23-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a man in the neck, in Saket, police said.

The accused has been identified as Anoop (23), a resident of Madangir area here. On May 9, Anoop, along with his friends allegedly stabbed one Rahul in his neck, they said.

"Information was received by South Eastern Range of Crime Branch that Anoop would reach Asian market of Saket. A team led by ACP Ishwar Singh was constituted under the supervision of DCP Bhisham Singh and Anoop was apprehended by the team," said a senior police official.

Anoop told interrogators that he wanted to take revenge against who along with his friends had assaulted him, leading to fracture in his leg, the official said.
 

Police said Anoop has been involved in five criminal cases in the past including attempt to murder, robbery and Arms Act.
