One held for cheating people

Mahesh Kumar Thapar, who has allegedly earned several lakh of rupees from gullible persons by charging them Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 for each loan, was arrested from the capital recently, police said.

The arrest followed a complaint filed by a Karol Bagh resident, Indumati, who alleged that she had been cheated Rs 45,000 by an unknown person who had promised her loan.
