One held for producing over 5,000 pirated copies of new films

A history-sheeter who was involved in illegally producing pirated copies of CDs containing recently released films was arrested today.

During a raid today, police arrested Khader Khani from his house in Pulianthope, where he illegally produced pirated copies of recently released films such as 'Ennai Arindhal', 'Isai', 'Pulan Visaranai 2', 'Dooring Talkies', 'Ambala', 'I', 'Darling,' besides other English, Hindi and porn films without valid licence, they said.

He was regularly supplying the CDs for sale in Burma Baazar, China Baazar, Rattan Bazaar in Chennai, they said.

A total of eight CD writing machines, a television, about 5,200 CDs, including empty ones, a mixing DVD player were seized from him, they added.
 

The accused, who was earlier involved in many cases investigated, including some by the CB CID and Anti Video Piracy Cell, was arrested, produced in a local court, which remanded him to judicial custody and sent to Puzhal prison, they said.
