One held for robbing woman at her house

A man was arrested for allegedly robbing a woman at her house in Jasola, police said today.

"Mushtaq, a resident of Neb Sarai, was arrested on December 20 during a routine checking by the staff of South-East district. Part of the booty robbed from the woman has also been recovered," said a police official.

On December 7, a PCR call was received at 3:55 PM that two persons were fighting with a woman inside her house at Jasola Janta Flat, following which police reached the spot.

"The victim, Lalit Laxmi, in her complaint stated that she was robbed of Rs 3,000, a gold chain, a gold ring, a silver waist band and a cellphone by unidentified persons who forcefully entered her house," the official said.
 

Lalit said around 3 PM, a man knocked on her door and informed that he has been sent by one Javed. In the meanwhile, another person entered the house and caught hold of her neck, gagged her mouth, pointed a pistol at her and took away the valuables, the official said.

On December 20, during a picket checking at Okhla Tank Jungle, one motorcycle was signalled to stop, but instead of stopping, the riders tried to flee. On this, the picket staff apprehended Mushtaq while another rider managed to flee.

One country-made pistol along with two live cartridges were recovered from him, police said.

On interrogation, Mushtaq allegedly disclosed that he along with his accomplices Naim and Sonu had committed the above mentioned robbery.

Subsequently, some robbed articles were recovered at his instance, the official said.
