One held in truck robbery case

One person was arrested in a robbery case of a cargo truck, which was carrying goods worth Rs 80 lakh, on way from Greater Noida to Kanpur, police said today.

The truck carrying electronic goods, ready made clothes and other machine tools was looted by a gang in Sikandra town, they said.

The truck had started its journey from Greater Noida for Kanpur late on Sunday night.

On its way, it was obstructed by few men in an SUV, when it reached Sikandra town yesterday, who then forced the driver out of the truck.

The driver, identified as Roop Chand, was blindfolded and thrown to a nearby place in Fatehpur. He later informed the police about the incident.
 

The truck was later located and found in a godown in Kanpur by the company with the help of a vehicle tracking system fitted in it, police said, adding all the goods were also found there.

One of the accused, identified as Tanuj Srivastava, has been arrested, while rest are on run, police said.
