One person was injured today as the Army allegedly opened fire to disperse a stone-pelting mob in north Kashmir's Bandipora district, the police said.
An Army party, which was on its way to the Hajin area of the district to take part in a counter-insurgency operation, was targeted when the mob started hurling stones at it, a police official said.
The Army opened fire to disperse the mob, he said, adding that Nayeem Ahmad Dar, a resident of Gos Mohalla, was hit by a bullet on his left leg.
The inured was taken to a hospital, the official said.
