One injured in bomb blast in Assam

One person was injured in a bomb blast in Mahur area in Dima Hasao district of Assam, police said today.

Pritam Dabnath (24), a shopkeeper in Mahur market, was shutting up his shop last night at around 8.30pm when two unidentified men hurled a handmade bomb towards him and fled, they said.

The bomb hit a nearby post and its splinters caused injury to Debnath's left eye and loss of hearing to one ear, police said.

He was rushed to the Civil Hospital here, they said, adding a manhunt has been launched to nab the miscreants.
