One injured in firing at factory premises in Maharashtra

A man from Wada in the district was today injured in firing that took place in a factory premises, police said.

The incident took place at Chandrapada of Mhasval village in Wada tehsil at around 4.30 PM when a labour contractor Naresh Patil along with some others had gone to a private factory to collect their dues for their work, an official with Palghar police control room said.

The factory owner had denied them payment on earlier occasions. A verbal spat broke between the owner and Patil. Following this, the owner opened fire with his revolver, he added.

While Naresh was unhurt, another person Nivesh Patil who accompanied him sustained injuries. He was rushed to the Wada rural hospital and later shifted to Thane civil hospital, the official said.
 

Police are are yet to register a case in this regard and investigations are underway.
