One Jallikattu bull died after it fell in an open well at Mettutheru, about 13 kms from here today, police said.
Three other bulls also fell in the well were rescued, police said.
Twelve bul tamers sustained injuries and they were admitted at Thanjavur Medical College hospital.
District Collector A Annadurai inaugurated the bull taming sport and about 500 bulls and 1000 bull tamers participated in the event.
