One kg of banned 'Horse Drug' seized, one person arrested

One kilogramme of a banned drug commonly know as 'Horse Drug' was seized and one person was arrested in this connection by police from the Nagaland- Manipur inter-state check gate.

Police seized one kilogramme of 'Horse Drug' having composition of methamphetamine and caffeine from the possession of Hussain Ahmed (26) of Brahmanshsan Block-2, Karimganj district of Assam yesterday while conducting routine frisking of vehicles, said PRO Kohima Police Atu Zumvu.

The illegal drug was found neatly wrapped in four packets, he said.

As per preliminary statement of the accused, the drug was procured from Senapati in Manipur and was supposed to be delivered to a client at Dimapur in Nagaland.
 

This illegal drug is especially popular in Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines where it is imported from Burma or Laos.

In this connection a case has been registered at Khuzama Police Station under NDPS Act and further investigation is in progress, Police added.
