A 25-year-old youth was killed and ten others, including nine CRPF personnel were injured when a bike collided head on with a vehicle of the security force which turned turtle under the impact at Belpahari in West Midnapore district today.
The two bike riders were critically injured and rushed to Jhargram district hospital. They were then transferred to Midnapore Medical College Hospital and one of them died there, police said.
Of the nine CRPF personnel, two were seriously injured and are being treated at Midnapore Medical College. The rest were allowed to go after first aid, they said.
The CRPF personnel are members of the 165 battalion, which are part of the joint force posted in the district to combat Maoists.
