One person was killed and 15 others injured after two groups in a village clashed due to a land dispute in Alamuru mandal of East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh today, the police said.

One D Vijayakumar (43) received head injuries, while 15 other people, including ten people from Narsipudi and five others from Baduguvanilanka villages received head injuries, the police said.

After the government allocated 30 acres of land on lease to Narsipudi's villagers to cultivate, Baduguvanilanka's villagers demanded that the government allot land to them, since the land is situated in their village.

"We have registered a case and investigation is on," Mandapeta circle inspector P V Ramana told PTI.
