One killed, 50 tourists injured in Odisha bus mishap

A man was killed and around 50 other tourists from West Bengal including women and children were injured when the bus they were travelling in overturned near Dhauli on the outskrits of the state capital here today, police said.

The mishap took place when the tourist bus from West Bengal was returning from a Buddhist monument at Dhauli this evening, as it lost control and turned turtle at the foothill, they said.

While one person, identified as Jagabandhu Haldar (42) of Harihar village in Nadia district of West Bengal and working as an engineer in Pune, died in the mishap, around 50 others were injured, 11 of them seriously, they said.
 

The injured tourists, mostly from Nadia district, were admitted at the Capital hospital here, police said, adding 11 of them sustaining critical injuries were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack.
