One killed after minor tiff in Hapur

A man was lynched over a minor tiff in Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh, the police said today.

The incident occurred yesterday in Bacheda village under Pilakhwa area of the district when two persons had a quarrel with another person going on a motorcycle.

The bike-borne man soon called his friends who beat up the two persons, SP Hapur, Sankalp told PTI when contacted.

Both were admitted to hospital by the police of whom one died, the SP said, adding that the other person was stated to be out of danger.

The SP said that there were rumours that the incident was an outcome of cow slaughter but the investigations carried out in the area proved the reports to be wrong.

 

DIG (Law and Order) Praveen Kumar, meanwhile, said at his media briefing here that two persons have been arrested and some others were picked up for questioning.
