One killed, another injured by wild elephant

A wild elephant trampled a person to death in Tukrapara area under Agia forest division of the district and seriously injured a woman when they had gone to the forest to collect firewood.

The dead has been identified as Uttam Nath and the injured as Meera Sutradhar.

The area is particularly prone to human-elephant conflict with three persons killed by elephants during this month, sources added.
