A person was killed and a policeman injured in an incident of firing that took place after a police party intercepted a car carrying two suspected criminals on a highway at Tapukra, 70 kms from Alwar, police said today.
The injured police constable has been identified as Sedhuram.
He was shot in the stomach and was rushed to a private hospital in Gurgaon in a serious condition, police said.

The driver of the car, Arif (22) died in the firing, they said.
"It is not clear who fired and from where...Or if it was a cross firing...It is a matter of investigation," they said.
The incident took place around midnight yesterday when a team of four policemen posted at the Tapukra police station got a tip-off that some criminals were travelling through their area in a car, they said.
The team intercepted the car, which had two persons. While the policemen were taking one person out of the vehicle, the firing took place, they said.
There is no information about the second person in the car, they said, adding that the vehicle has been seized.
