One killed, four injured in clash over land dispute

A 70-year-old man was killed and four injured in a clash allegedly over land dispute in Simar Khurd village area here today.

Ram Surat Yadav had a land dispute with his distant relatives and problem started this afternoon when his cattle entered into the agriculture field of rivals, police said.

In the ensuing clash, Yadav was beaten with lathis and he succumbed to injuries while on way to hospital, police said, adding a woman and a 10-year boy were also among the injured.

One of the seriously injured has been referred to Gorakhpur medical college hospital, police said.

No arrest has been yet made in the matter.
