Rajesh Maurya (35) was killed as the owners of the land adjacent to his opened fire after a dispute over the property, Superintendent of Police A K Jain said.
The clash broke out when the rival group was getting its land demarcated and claimed Maurya's land as its own.
Police have suspended two constables, who had gone there following dispute but fled the scene after the firing, the SP said.
Efforts are on to nab the culprits.
