One person was killed and about 15 others were injured, five of them seriously in lightning at Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district today.
The victims had been to a fair at Mohulborai village when rain accompanied by lightning struck the area, officer-in-charge of Chakradharpur olice station Gopinath Tiwary said.
While one person was killed on the spot in the lightning, around 15 others suffered injuries, including five seriously, he said.
The five seriously injured were shifted to Tata Main Hospital here, while the rest are undergoing treatment in a Chakradharpur hospital, he added.
