One killed in road mishap in J-K

One person was killed and another injured when a truck they were travelling in skidded off the road and turned turtle on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The truck that was on its way from Kashmir to Punjab was loaded with apple boxes when its driver lost control of the vehicle and it turned turtle near the Nachlana area on the Highway yesterday, a police officer said.

After getting information, a police team rushed to the spot and shifted the driver and the cleaner of the vehicle to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal where the cleaner succumbed to his injuries, he said.
 

The deceased has been identified as Yougraj Singh while the injured has been identified as Iresh Deep Singh, both residents of Punjab, he said.

A case has been registered and investigations started in this regard, he said.
