One person was killed and five persons, including a Telugu Desam Party Member of Legislative Council, were today injured when a car and an autorickshaw collided at Madanapalli, 120 km from here, police said.
The mishap occurred when the car in which TDP MLC B Nareshkumar Reddy and three party workers were travelling, was proceeding to a party programme.
Following the collision, the car swerved off the road and crashed ten feet down into a pit, police said.
The condition of one of the injured admitted to the government hospital at Madanapalli is serious, they said.
The MLC and three others travelling in the car sustained minor injuries and were discharged after first aid, police added.
The seriously injured person and the deceased were travelling in the auto, which was badly damaged.
