One killed, two hurt as oil tanker catches fire after crash

One person was killed and two others were injured when an oil tanker collided with another fuel-carrying vehicle and caught fire today, police said.

The mishap took place near VCA Stadium in Jamtha on the city's outskirts. The tanker belonged to Bharat Petroleum.

"An oil tanker carrying fuel from Butibori petroleum depot to Mansar petrol pump met with an accidentat 1 pm and caught fire," Hingna police inspector Hemant Kharabe said.

The helper of the oil tanker was killed, while its driver and conductor were injured, he added.

The deceased was identified as Vasodeo Kamgate (20), a resident of Sakholi here, the officer added.
