One killed, two injured as rival groups of residents clash

One person was killed and two others were injured in clash between two groups of residents of Sadhu Ram Colony here, police said today.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Ashish Srivastava said the two groups of local residents, led by Murari and Bittu, indulged in brickbating after a heated argument yesterday over the issue of haphazard electric wires scattered in the streets.

Murari (42), along with his brother Tripurari and cousin Narender were seriously injured in the incident, he said.

They were rushed to Narender Mohan Hospital, where Murari was declared brought dead by doctors, whereas Tripurari and Narender were referred GTB hospital in Delhi, Srivastava said.
 

An FIR under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 34 (common intention), 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder) has been registered at Sahibabad police station against Bitto and his wife Maya, Sanjeev, Jitender, Satender and nearly a dozen other unidentified persons in this connection, he added.
