One person was beaten to death and another seriously injured today when angry villagers thrashed them for allegedly abetting the suicide of a person at
Udainarayanpur in Howrah district.
The police said that Shambhunath Malik (48) died on the spot and Swapan Addya was seriously injured when they visited Garbhabanipur village this noon.
The villagers attacked the duo alleging that Swapan had abetted the death of Akshyay Sadhukhan a month ago.
Two persons were arrested and others fled the village, police said.
