One more arrested in Kodanadu murder case

The main accused in connection with the case of break-in and murder of a security guard at a bungalow in Kodanadu Estate, which was often visited by former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, was arrested today, police said.

Sayan, who had met with an accident on April 28, four days after the murder, in which he lost he his wife and daughter, was undergoing treatment in the Government Hospital here.

As his condition shown good improvement, he was today arrested.

He was taken by a wheel chair, covering his face with black cloth, from the ward to the van.

The special police team took Sayan to Kodanadu, the place of occurrence. After inquiry he was produced before the Kothagiri Judicial Magistrate Sridhar who remanded him to judicial custody till June 20.

Investigating agency has named 11 persons as suspected in the murder and arrested 10 of them. The prime suspect Kanagaraj died in an accident.

Meanwhile, a police official in Kothagiri said Sayan has problems in kidney and small intestine, following the accident.

He has to undergo another surgery, which will be carried out after permission from jail authorities, he said.
