One more death due to swine flu in Coimbatore

A 38-year-old man, suffering from H1N1 Influenza and undergoing treatment at the government hospital here, died today, taking the number of swine flu deaths to seven since January in the district.

Hospital officials said the man, identified as Muthukumar, hailing from Meenakshipuram near Pollachi, was undergoing treatment for swine flu in a private hospital here for the last three days and was shifted to the government hospital around midnight.

He died around 5 AM today, officials said.

However, a senior official claimed that though all the deceased had symptoms of swine flu, three cases had ailments like asthma and cardiac, kidney and lung problems.
 

It was said Muthukumar had asthma and kidney problem which has to be confirmed, the official said.

12 persons, including two children, were undergoing treatment for swine flu at the government hospital for swine flu, the official added.
