A youth has been arrested for his involvement in alleged smuggling of animal skin, in which seven persons were apprehended over the past five days, and leopard skin was recovered from him, police said today.
According to Sangli police, based on a tip-off, the accused Pralhad Shinde (19) was arrested in Nashik district on Monday evening.
"We got a tip-off about Shinde from the arrested gang members that he was in possession of a leopard skin and was in the process of selling it to a customer," Sangli district Superintendent of Police Dilip Sawant said.

A police team was sent to Shinde's residence in Vanasgaon in Nashik district, from where they recovered the skin.
Two suspected tiger skins had been seized from seven persons and the estimated the value of all the three skins is around Rs 30 lakh, police said.
