One more succumbs to injuries in bus accident in Himachal

The death toll in a bus accident in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district has risen to three as one more person succumbed to injuries Thursday, police said.

The incident occurred Wednesday after the private bus hit a crash barrier that prevented it from falling into a gorge at Luna vilage in Bharmour, around 420 km from here.

The bus, carrying as many as 50 people, was on its way to Chhatrari village from Palampur hill station, Superintendent of Police Monika Bhutungru said.

Chatro Ram (82), a resident of Niyangal village in Kangra district, succumbed to injuries at Tanda Medical College Thursday, Bhutunguru said, adding three more injured were in serious condition.

 

Two persons - Kaushalya (50) and Makholi (65) - died and 48 others were injured in the accident on Wednesday.
