One MULTA militant, two NDFB(S) over ground workers nabbed

A Muslim United Liberation Tigers of Assam (MULTA) militant and two over ground workers of NDFB(S) were apprehended in two different operations in Assam's Kokrajhar and Chirang districts.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the police and army launched an operation last night in Musalmanpara village in Gossaigaon sub-division of Kokrajhar district and nabbed the MULTA militant, a Defence spokesman said today.

The militant has been identified as Waidur Rehman and a country made 7.62 mm rifle was recovered from his possession.

In another operation, based on specific information a joint search operation was launched in Kusumdisha area of Chirang district and two NDFB(S) Over Ground Workers (OGWs) were apprehended today.
 

The duo, allegedly involved in extortions on behalf of NDFB(S), have been identified as Prasanjit Islary and Biton Basumatary and a 7.65 mm pistol, a magazine, a grenade and same other ammunition were recovered from their possession.
