A CPI (Maoist) cadre was arrested by elite Greyhounds police force after a brief encounter with a group of naxals at Doravaripalle village in the district today.
"The Greyhounds came face to face with at least six naxals while conducting combing operation at the village, which ensued a brief exchange of fire. While five out of six ultras managed to flee, one among them was overpowered by the police team," said Warangal SP (Rural) Ambar Kishore Jha.
The naxal was identified as Sarangam and he is being interrogated, the officer said.
He said a search is on to trace the naxals.
