One passenger dies, nine others hospitalised after bus mishap

One passenger died and nine were injured in an accident involving an Maharashtra State Transport Corporation (MSRTC) which took place today near Chiplun in Ratnagiri district, on the Mumbai-Goa highway, official sources said.

The Borivali-Sakharpa MSRTC bus was on its way from Borivali, when the driver lost his control over the bus, which ran down a roadside field.

One passenger named Laxman Dhondu Narkar died on the spot, while nine others who were injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals.

A total of 38 passengers were travelling in the bus during the time of the mishap.
