Clashes in the Shahpur area in the old city claimed one life, after a youth shot by an unidentified person during a fight between locals and the police yesterday evening, died in a hospital here today.
According to police records registered at the police table of the V S Hospital, 22-year-old Ashrafkhan Pathan, a resident of Vankarvas near Rangila police chowky in Shahpur, was brought to the hospital at around 18:40 yesterday evening with a bullet injury.
During the clashes, Pathan who was shot, was rushed to hospital for treatment. However, he died today, the police said.

According to his father Rafiq Shaikh and other family members, it is still unclear about who shot his son.
"Ashraf who used to work as a tailor, was coming towards our house yesterday evening. Suddenly, he was hit by a bullet in his stomach. We don't know who fired at him," Rafiq's relative said.
Until late evening, no police complaint was filed in in connection with the case at the place of the event in Shahpur.
"We were busy doing security duty all day due to Bakri-Eid today. I can't talk much. No one has came to us to file a complaint yet," Shahpur Police Inspector A J Gondalia said.
