One person killed in police firing

One person was killed when police opened fire on a stone-pelting mob near Ramna in Garhwa district today, the police said here.

The police personnel stopped a van carrying kerosene, and were interrogating the occupants when some villagers gathered there and started throwing stones around 5.30 pm, Superintendent of Police Michael S Raj told reporters here.

The police had to open fire to disperse the villagers in which one person got killed, Raj said.
